Is there a minimum order value or quantity?
There is a $100 minimum order value, but no minimum quantity.

Can you ship directly to my customer?
Absolutely. Our customers know we will not sell directly to their customers.

Is there a way to contact someone for an emergency requirement?
Call us toll-free, 24/7, at 877-HOT-BOLT (877-468-2658). We have people ready to respond to any need.

How fast can you take an order and ship it?
We have the fastest order-to-shipment process in the industry.  Although our regular turnaround time is from same-day to one week, we can accomplish the improbable and offer shipments on a more expedited basis.

Aren't all structural bolts the same?
Absolutely not.   Most hot forge bolt manufacturers use an open-die forging process, thus producing a die seam or fin on the bearing surface.  ASTM specifications and regulations are quite clear that the bearing surface shall be flat.  All Cardinal Fastener structural products are made with a forged, flat bearing surface.

To what lengths can you manufacture?
The shortest length we can make is 1½” and the longest length is almost limitless. We have made 15-foot long bolts before.

To what thread pitches can you manufacture?
All coarse and fine thread, in both inch and metric standards as well as 14 pitch.  Bolts and capscrews threaded with fine pitch are thread-protected before shipping, as standard procedure.

What system is used to inspect the threads?
Threads are inspected in accordance with ASME standards, System 21 or System 22.

What is the difference between a bolt and a capscrew?
All strength properties of bolts and capscrews are the same.  Capscrews are typically used in tapped holes and bolts are typically assembled with a nut.  Cardinal Fastener manufactures its bolts to meet most of the dimensional specifications of capscrews therefore allowing a Cardinal Fastener bolt to be subsitituted for a capscrew.

Can you provide any secondary processes, such as plating or special machining?
Cardinal Fastener is located in close proximity to many secondary plating and machining sources.  These sources offer low cost, fast turnaround and high quality process for your secondary needs.

Can you provide nuts and washers with my shipment?
Cardinal Fastener offers a “one stop” shopping experience. We stock a complete non-domestic line of 2H nuts and F436 washers, which can be included with your shipment.

Can I get chemical and physical reports with my order?
Cardinal Fastener tests everything it sells, in complete accordance with the required specification. This includes destructive and non-destructive tests. We can provide a C of C (certificate of conformance), a report of Chem and Phys (chemical and physical results) as well as OMTRs (Original Mill Test Reports).

Can I get product with lot traceability?
Yes. Cardinal Fastener offers stamped (either forged or manually stamped) markings, which identify the unique manufacturing lot for traceability, all the way back to the iron ore mine.  In addition, we offer a private branding option for those customers wishing to have their company head mark on the product.
