LEAN Thinking
Lean Thinking, Measurable Results
On June 12, 1998, Cardinal Fastener
began a journey that changed the company forever. That’s
when our company adopted the principles of Lean Thinking, otherwise
known as the Toyota Production System. Lean Thinking is a
way of doing more with less—less human effort, less equipment,
less time and in less space.
 |
In eliminating
waste from the production process, Lean Thinking returns efficiency
and cost-savings. While the benefits to the company have been
measurably positive, it’s the customers of Cardinal
Fastener who have derived the most.
Cardinal Fastener's journey
has resulted in the shortest lead times in the entire fastener
industry and some of the shortest in any manufacturing industry.
Most orders for standard or special bolts and capscrews are
made and shipped in the same day the order
is placed. |
Manufacturing costs have declined significantly
and the savings have been passed along to our customers. Furthermore,
the quality of our products and our service is unequaled.
Our success with Lean Thinking has been recognized
and haled by the industry, as attested by this article, which appeared
in Distributor's
Link Magazine.
